Energy Supply

Overview

There are 30 companies in the borough providing energy, water supply, water treatment services plus waste collection and disposal activities.  The sector employs more than 750 people (1.1% of the total jobs in Reigate & Banstead).

The sector covers specific areas such as:

• Supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply
• Water collection, treatment and supply
• Sewerage
• Waste treatment and disposal activities
• Remediation activities and other waste management services

This is a sector that suits people from a range of backgrounds with a wide range of different skills. There are lots of opportunities to develop your skills with on-the-job training and apprenticeships.

This is also a sector seeing massive changes as pressure increases for greener fuels and different technologies with a focus on renewables. Renewable energy careers are vital to a sustainable future. From wind turbines to solar panels, tidal barrages to biofuels and clean and renewable energy sources.
